Frequently Asked Questions

Why did my image save as WebP?
Many websites serve pictures as WebP because the files are small. Browsers open it fine, but some editors, older apps and upload forms do not accept it.
What happens to transparent areas?
JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white. Convert to PNG instead if you need to keep them.
Will the JPG look the same?
At the default 85% quality the difference is rarely visible. Raise the quality slider if you notice artefacts.
Can I convert several WebP files at once?
Yes — add them all and they are converted with the same settings. You download them together as a ZIP.
